Merton Council looked to reduce its carbon footprint and increase its efficiency, and so approached ttMobiles for outside expertise to tackle these problems…
Two years on, Merton Council currently has a mobile fleet of around 1,500 mobile phones and is now recovering on average a minimum of £400 per month in personal call costs.
ttMobiles services have been utilised by Merton Council to identify and recover non-business calls in order to save money and improve efficiency and resource burden. ttMobiles is also working to reduce the council’s carbon footprint and consolidate 300 accounts into 1 account by the end of this financial year.
ttMobiles has introduced an online personal call allocation solution and has pooled resources to identify mobile phones that are not being used within the council. This has led to 100% saving on internal resources and on average a minimum of £400 in cost savings per month. The council is also reducing its carbon footprint by implementing ttMobiles’ online solution enabling the transition to paperless billing.
Quotes:
“Merton Council and ttMobiles have been working together since 2009. Merton’s primary goal of the partnership is to accurately identify and recover the cost of non-business calls. Its secondary goal is to consolidate over 300 accounts into 1 account, saving the Council time and help reduce its carbon footprint. With ttMobiles assistance the Council is now recovering in the region of £400 per month in personal call costs and is making good progress in its aim to achieve 1 account by the end of the year. The variety of reports supplied by ttMobiles has also assisted the council in identifying areas of concern such as mobile phones that are not being used.”Alex Houghton, Merton Council.
“Figures like these demonstrate the profitability of wireless expense management for all organisations. Now that we have tackled the initial difficulties of locating unused mobile phones and recovering personal calls, we are looking forward to working with Merton to consolidate the accounts by April 2012.” Peter Readman, ttMobiles.
“We have delivered internal savings to the business, ensured compliance with our VAT obligations and have all spend checked and reported on monthly through ttMobiles.” Colin Haycock, McAfee
